Candace Owen Owns The Internet

You may know Candace from her calling out celebrities on instagram or for her most recent viral moment where she tells a kid that life is tough and to get a helmet. If you know the person I am talking about, then you know Candace Owens. She is a political commentator icon on social media. People wither love her or they hate her. Candace is also known for her podcast called the "Candace Owens Podcast." Her show featuring deep dives, investigations and exposés on today’s topics. She has become famous for her hot takes and raw perspective on things. SocialBlade.com says that the show has 1.41 million subscribers on YouTube and averages about 90,000 views a day and 640,000 views a week. This is one of the smaller accounts we have looked at. However, just because she has lower view counts, she still has a big presence in the media and with her followers. Candace's podcast has loyal engagement on her social media from her podcast. Her podcast seems to be targeted towards conservative viewers. I think this is because her show is part of the DailyWire, which seems to be targeted towards conservatives. Her powerful presence and occasional vitality has helped her gain new traction and spread her platform. This is great for conservatives because she is helping spread their political beliefs.

As someone relatively new to podcasts, it is one that I occasionally like to put on. What about you? Do you listen to or like the "Candace Owens Show?"

  1. While I don't personally find Candace Owens enjoyable to listen to, I can't deny her fame or virality. I don't listen to the Candace Owens show and don't really see myself ever doing so. However, 1.41 million subscribers is impressive and it clear that she's found her audience through social media. I think that it's important for people to find community in those they listen to and if that's Candace Owens for some people, then by all means listen to her.

  2. I definitely know who Candace Owens is. However, I do have to say that I am not much of a fan and probably would not enjoy listening to her podcast. You mentioned that Candace has an extremely large platform. This made me think about the genuine power she has over influencing many individuals beliefs. With any individual that has that much influential power and the amount people that trust their every word, it is absolutely necessary to hold these individuals to a high standard of truth. I personally would have to conduct my own research about the accuracy of what Candace Owens has to say, but I am not the one taking in information from her. If anyone is taking information in from a person with fame or a large following or even anyone in general, I think it is so important to question the trustworthiness of a person before automatically trusting everything they say.
